Both geothermal heating and geothermal power are methods that exploit the heat under the earth’s surface. Some of this energy stems from the earth’s core, where temperatures can become incredibly high. So what exactly is the difference between the two?

There are several reasons for why I’m writing this article. The first is to shed light on the climate crisis that we have put our self in due to the inefficient use of energy in the last decades. The other reason is to get people to implement certain (most of them very simple) tips and tricks to contribute positively to the earth. We are the generation that has do something about this matter.

The amount of energy in the form of heat in the earth is huge. We can use this energy to generate electricity or directly as heat. This energy resource consists mainly of radioactive decay and sun energy. Earth is insulating, absorbing energy from the sun and does a relatively good job at keeping it in place. Temperatures are therefore more stable in the earth as opposed to the surface.
